Package Lifecycle Overview

Definitions

• PurchaseUnit. An is one or more Packages that together make up a purchase by a single Buyer and one or more Sellers.
• Package. A package is one or more Products that are purchased by a single Buyer and a single Seller in a single Currency.
• Product. A product is a single item which is being sold by a Seller.
• Bundle. A bundle is a Package containing multiple Products.

Overview

A Package is one or more Products that are purchased by a single Buyer from a single Seller. An Order can contain one or more of these Packages.

Therefore, we track each Package separately and transition it through its own set of finite states.

Starting lifecycle states

• Package postage fee approval required The buyer has ordered a bundle of items that require pre-approval by the seller for the estimated postage fee amount
• Package awaiting payment The buyer has created an order and must now provide a valid payment method

• Package awaiting postage The seller must post the package
• Package for postage cancelled and awaiting refund The package purchase has been cancelled and we are processing a refund
• Package for postage cancelled and refunded The package purchase has been cancelled and it has been refunded
• Package in transit The seller has posted the package
• Package postage issue while in transit There has been an issue with the package while in transit
• Package received but not confirmed The buyer has likely received the package but this has not been confirmed by the buyer
• Package received with issue The buyer has confirmed that they have received the package but there is an issue
• Package received with issue is disputed The buyer has confirmed that they have received the package with an issue but the buyer and seller have not agreed upon a resolution
• Package received with issue is disputed and upheld The buyer has confirmed that they have received the package with an issue which we have upheld
• Package received but awaiting refund The buyer is being processed a refund for an issue and they do not need to return the package
• Package received and refunded The buyer has been refunded for an issue and they do not need to return the package
• Package received and awaiting payment transfer The buyer has received their package and we are paying the seller
• Package received and payment transferred The buyer has received their package and we have paid the seller
• Package awaiting postage back to seller The buyer must post the package back to the seller
• Package in transit back to seller The package is in transit back to the seller
• Package postage issue while in transit back to seller The package is in transit back to the seller but there was an issue
• Package returned to the seller received but not confirmed The package has likely been received back by the seller but this has not been confirmed
• Package returned to seller received with issue The seller has confirmed that they have received the returned package but there is an issue
• Package returned to seller received with issue in dispute The seller has confirmed that they have received the package with an issue and the buyer and seller have not agreed upon a resolution
• Package returned to seller received The seller has received their package and we are paying the seller
• Package received and awaiting payment refund The buyer has been refunded for the returned package
• Package returned to seller with issue caused by buyer awaiting refund The buyer is indicated as the cause for an issue with the returned package
• Package returned with issue due to buyer has payment completed to seller The seller is paid for the package which was returned but with an issue
